Foxwoods’ COVID-19 Response
On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, Foxwoods Resort Casino closed its doors to the public for the first time in 28 years. This was done in line with the state’s mandate to minimize the risks and impacts of COVID-19. Since February 15, 1992, we have loved seeing our Foxwoods family, both guests and team members, walk through the doors with smiling faces. However, as we navigate this difficult time, we all must come together as one to keep our community safe and healthy.
Much like the rest of the world, we are being responsive to the changing developments of the COVID-19 crisis. Our priority is the health and safety of our guests, team members and community. We are relying on recommendations from our Chief Medical officer, the state, and the CDC to decide when it’s safe to reopen our doors.
We remain committed to our loyal team members, many who’ve shared this journey with us for over 28 years. They are the true heart of Foxwoods Resort Casino and are responsible for creating countless memories and moments of wonder for our guests throughout the years. We have furloughed our workforce and will continue to cover health insurance.
This is the best path for us to preserve jobs at Foxwoods and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and show compassion for our team and loved ones during these unprecedented times. We will constantly evaluate the rapidly changing situation and communicate updates as they happen. For the latest property updates, please reference our dedicated landing page at Foxwoods.com/coronavirus.
We look forward to reopening Foxwoods Resort Casino and returning to the Wonder of It All. Until then, from all of us at Foxwoods Resort Casino, be well and stay safe.
