MASHANTUCKET, CT (November 15, 2021) – Foxwoods® Resort Casino is reporting slot revenue of $31.7 million for the month of October 2021. This results in a $7.9 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s long-standing slot revenue contribution agreement. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has deposited over $4.4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue directly into the state’s budget fund.
Last month, Foxwoods was once again voted the number one Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the second consecutive year and third time overall Foxwoods has taken the top spot, having won the same accolade in 2018 and 2020.
Foxwoods has seen major milestones around sports betting and online gaming recently. In October, the resort launched online and mobile sports betting in partnership with DraftKings. Anyone now 21 years of age and older in the state of Connecticut can place a variety of sports bets and play casino games such as slots, blackjack and roulette using the co-branded Foxwoods and DraftKings Sportsbook and Casino app on their mobile device.
Last week, Foxwoods also opened the permanent DraftKings Sportsbook at Foxwoods. Guests can now bet, dine and play at the new two-story, 12,000-plus square foot integrated retail sportsbook. The DraftKings Sportsbook at Foxwoods includes wall-to-wall televisions, anchored by one of the largest LED screens in the industry at 50 feet by 30 feet, multiple VIP rooms, two full bars including an ice rail and 24 beers on tap, and a full restaurant that will offer game-day favorites including burgers and wings.
Foxwoods’ development evolution continued as the resort announced a partnership with outdoor hospitality company Blue Water, where the two submitted plans for a proposed recreational campground resort on Mashantucket Pequot Tribal land in Preston, CT. The proposed plans include a variety of camping sites, a pool, waterslide, splash pad, tennis and volleyball courts, playground, camp store and picnic pavilion.
This month officially kicks off the holidays at Foxwoods. Lace up your skates and glide into the seasonal bliss at Foxwoods’ outdoor ice-skating rink opening on November 26. After your fun on the ice, dine in a holiday inspired igloo right outside of the rink. From Star Wars, Santa’s Workshop, Night in Paris and beyond, choose your igloo theme and food and beverage package online for the ultimate seasonal adventure.
Also in November, Foxwoods’ signature restaurant Cedars Steaks & Oysters is hosting an over-the-top, Christmas wonderland-themed dining experience all season long. Take your taste buds on a holiday journey of indulgent food, craft cocktails and Instagrammable holiday décor in an immersive seasonal fantasy setting.
