MASHANTUCKET, CT (November 15, 2020) – Foxwoods® Resort Casino is reporting slot revenue of $26.1 million for the month of October 2020. This results in a $6.5 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s long-standing slot revenue contribution agreement. Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has deposited over $4 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue directly into the state’s budget fund.
The resort continues to see positive feedback and adherence from guests and team members on its extensive safety measures, including temperature checks, mandatory face masks, plexiglass installations and 24/7 sanitization of the property. Foxwoods has also maintained limiting the number of guests to 25% of the resort’s total capacity in order to allow for proper social distancing while on property.
“We’ve been very pleased with the positive guest response we’ve seen and the overall compliance with our various safety protocols and procedures,” said Jason Guyot, Interim CEO and SVP of Resort Operations. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our guests and team members, and we will continue to prioritize this as we look for new ways to provide our guests with a fun, relaxing environment to enjoy.”
Voted the best casino outside of Las Vegas by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice awards, Foxwoods is constantly looking to provide an unmatched experience for all guests in the safest way possible - most recently by introducing the first ever gaming floor open exclusively to guests ages 55 and up. The safe, sanitized and socially distanced Rainmaker Casino at Foxwoods is open from 10 a.m. to midnight every Friday through Sunday in November, making Foxwoods the first and only casino in the country to offer this experience to patrons 55 and older so they can relax and play while staying socially distanced.
Also coming up in December, Foxwoods is bringing back its annual Stuff the Bus campaign, during which unwrapped toys, blankets, pajamas, jackets and diapers will be collected in support of the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut and its “Tommy Toy” Fund program.
